The Bessemer Classical School's mission is composed of three parts, one of those being rigorous academics. The school utilizes the classical method to train students in a liberal arts tradition, providing them with a firm foundation in core subjects like Reading, Spelling and Math as well as Grammar, Latin, Science, Geography, History, Bible and Theology.

The expectations at TBCS are high, and acadmemic success relies on the involvement of a student's parent(s) or guardian(s). The learning does not stop at the end of the school day. Parents are committed to reviewing homework everynight and working with the child on their reading skills. The school also offers an after-school and summer program to continue their learning and growth. As a result, our performance on standardized testing has been impressive.
