After School Program
TBCS’s afterschool program gives parents who want a safe and nurturing environment for their student during the afternoon hours. Students spend the first fifteen to twenty minutes getting their rooms straightened, desks cleaned, floors swept and rugs vacuumed before grabbing a snack and heading outside to the play yard.
From around 2:15 – 3:30 the students enjoy a time of unstructured play, allowing their minds freedom to roam and imagine. Many students will enjoy pick up games of football or kickball. Others choose to use the playground equipment or to explore the school yard in search of bugs and lizards.
From 3:30-4:15 is a time of quite study. Those who wish to begin homework can do so. Those who would prefer to spend time reading a book may do that. All students are engaged in exercising their minds.
From 4:15 – 5:30 students again have free time to pursue their interests. Some choose to draw, others would rather play checkers, Uno, Connect Four or chess. Still others will want to build with Legos or blocks. Some students will work on additional skills like math or memory during this time.
